Leadership Philosophy
My leadership philosophy is derived from diverse leadership experiences in academia, the hospitality industry, and my personal journey across continents. My personal evolution informs not only my approach to decision-making and problem-solving but also how I interact with and influence others. I am committed to leading with a dedication to inclusive and empathetic leadership, fostering a growth mindset, practicing servant leadership, and building a strong, vibrant community through a positive, fun, and productive workspace.
International Society of Franchising ISoF
I currently serve as President of the ISoF. I co-chaired the ISoF annual conference in 2024 at Babson College. Founded in 1986, the ISoF is recognized as the leading organization for international scholarship in franchising.
POMS College of Service Operations
I am President of the Production and Operations Management Society (POMS) College of Service Operations. POMS is a global professional organization that publishes the POM journal, the only management journal with an operations management focus that is recognized by all three key research ranking lists: Business Week, the Financial Times, and the UT Dallas Business School research ranking.
Entrepreneurship and Innovation Institute
I am co-founder of the Entrepreneurship Research Group, which encourages interdisciplinary collaboration across the GSU campus on entrepreneurship research. I am also a member of GSU's Entrepreneurship Working Group
Cecil B. Day Hospitality Immersion Program
I am the faculty director of the Cecil B. Day Hospitality Immersion Program (HIP). The HIP was developed to provide a signature international experience for our hospitality students. Exposing students to leading global hospitality venues, companies and executives. In 2024, our inaugural international HIP took place in the United Arab Emirates (May 11 – 19).
Saxbys Experiential Platform
I am the faculty advisor for the Saxbys Experiential Learning Platform that opened at GSU in the fall of 2023. The Saxbys café is managed by a student CEO that is majoring in either Entrepreneurship, Hospitality Administration or Management at the Robinson College of Business.
Multi Unit Analytics LLC
I am founder of Multi Unit Analytics LLC. We provide consulting services to multi unit organizations including franchised, corporately owned chains and healthcare providers. We work with companies to understand the dynamics of multi unit ownership, helping to improve performance at both the outlet and aggregate organizational level. We offer expert witness testimony rooted in a deep understanding of established theory and empirical findings.
