Ben is the Aziz Hashim endowed Professor in Franchise Entrepreneurship at Georgia State University. He focuses on empirical work that helps inform hospitality practice on topics that intersect service operations and marketing with a primary interest in franchise relationships. He has published research articles in leading business journals including Production and Operations Management, International Journal of Research in Marketing, Journal of Advertising, Journal of Operations Management, Journal of Retailing, Industrial Marketing Management, Service Science and Journal of Business Ethics. Prior to joining Georgia State University, he was on the faculty of Cornell University. He currently serves as President of the International Society of Franchising and President of the POMS College of Service Operations. He is a first generation college graduate and US immigrant who was born in Singapore and grew up in Southeast Asia before coming to the US to attend university.
